Back to Piracy Full Time 🏴☠️
I’m done.
I’m going back to pirating content full time because I’m sick of streaming services becoming more expensive, fragmented, pushy (I don’t want podcasts, Spotify!) and just an overall poor user experience.
What used to take a few clicks to start watching, listening or reading, is now fraught with friction trying to upsell me on various things I don’t need, want or care about.
I used to pirate everything back in the halcyon days of PirateBay because it was easy and had everything I wanted. As soon as Netflix, Amazon and Spotify made consuming content easier than pirating, I was happy to pay for the convenience.
But like all good things, it’s come to an end. Piracy is now quicker, easier and, of course, cheaper.
This is what I use now:
- Music - SoulSeek (no more streaming) and use VLC on Android and Decoupled on iOS
- Movies & TV - Put.io paired with Chill.Institute. Get a free month trial here.
- Sports - SportSurge
- Books - LibGen or Z-Library
- Audiobooks & Magazines - Libby & Overdrive
- Youtube Premium - NewPipe (Android), Revanced , Paying via an Indian or other country’s VPN to get it for cheap.
